Miss T
Inspiration is a tricky mistress. Sometimes she shows up when you least expect it, and at other times, she’s never there when you need her. We’ve found that instead of searching for inspiration, we let it come to us. Such was the case with the beautiful Miss T.
We met at a local networking event to share our respective businesses and to meet like-minded women. Going into these types of situations, you’re never certain what response you’re going to get, but Miss T gave us a reception that warmed our heart. As soon as she saw our business card, she was eager to book her session.
We knew there was something about this woman that we wanted to get in front of our lens.
Before her session, we asked her what she was looking to get out of her shoot. Subconsciously, we expected her to want to give the photos to her husband as a gift, but we were pleasantly surprised to hear that she indeed planned on doing just that, as well as feel good about herself and who she was in the process.
To make her shoot memorable, to hit the goals she had, and to make the experience truly unique, we wanted to know even more about Miss T, like the areas of herself she loved to show off and those areas she preferred to keep hidden. We found that, like most women, she was concerned for her belly area, but loved to show off her long, beautiful legs.
We just knew we needed to show her that every aspect of her body was not only stunning, but perfect for her.
Miss T shared with us that on average, she feels beautiful only half the time. As women, we’re constantly told that we’re too thin, too curvy, too tall, too short, too something. But beauty isn’t just what’s on the outside. To us, the inner beauty that someone possesses is so much more valuable and attractive than what’s on the outside, which is something we try to impart to all our amazing clients. Miss T, though, she’s amazing inside and out.
It was just before her shoot when she let us know that, while she’s definitely excited to get in front of the camera, she was nervous. We love when this happens, as it enables us to fully immerse our clients in the experience and get out of their heads, even if only for a short time.
We knew that her session was going to be a powerful one. Just in the way she represented and carried herself, there was something underneath the surface waiting to come forward. We started off slow, building her comfort level, and during this time, she said, “I need to stop being so hard on myself.”
We all have areas we love or love to hide about ourselves, and growth is all about accepting who we are as a whole, not just bits and pieces.
The strength Miss T showed throughout her session had us asking: did this experience stir up any emotions in her? With some of our clients, it does, but for Miss T, not so much. Rather, it changed the way she looked at herself.
“I think I’m a stronger person for doing it,” she said.
If nothing else, that feeling she had makes what we do so magical; it lets us help women like Miss T find their inner strength and bring it forward.
Following up after the session, Miss T shared that throughout the process, we were able to make her feel comfortable and worthy. When it comes to a boudoir session, if you’re not comfortable, the images are going to reflect that. Miss T’s images kept getting strong as her comfort level and confidence grew and her nerves and feelings of unworthiness melted away.
We always like to leave our clients with one final question: would you book another shoot in the future? Miss T’s answer? A resounding “Absolutely!” In her own words, “I would feel much more comfortable and relaxed.” What she said next gave us all the feels.
“Other women can benefit from this experience, as it can make them feel empowered.
Thank you, Miss T, for your kind words and letting us share this experience with you.
